Which one do you feed?
One
evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a "battle"
that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between
2 "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and
faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his
grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you
feed."

Thought for the week of May 13 , 2012: Every charitable act is a stepping stone toward heaven. Henry Ward Beecher
I believe in the United States of America as a
government of the people, by the people,for the people;
whose just powers are derived from the consent of the
governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation
of many sovereign States, a perfect union, on and
inseparable; established upon those principles of
freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which
American patriots sacrificed their lives fortunes.
I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love
it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to
respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

William Tyler Page in 1917,
accepted by the United States House of Representatives,
April 1918
